Why is it that my list of Things to Do online keeps getting longer, not shorter?

Oh, yes. That would be because I keep applying for fanlistings.

I think I'll swear off for a little while after I see my most recent batch of pending listings approved or rejected. But of course, I've said that before, and it hasn't really worked for me yet. 33 listings and going way to strong. But enough of this negativity(?) Let me tell you instead about the incredible amount of time I've been putting into editing images of late. I'll even give you a little something for your trouble- for purely selfish, show-off-ical reasons.

Relationship: Jessie(Musashi) & James(Kojirou) [Pokemon]

I never thought I would own this listing. Both of the previous owners are friends, and both did wonderful things with the fanlist. But Mu lost the rights in unfortunate circumstances, and faced with the rock and the hard place I decided to brave her wrath and underhandedly apply for it myself before someone else could snap it up.

I talk as if Pokemon was still some big thing, though I know it isn't anymore. Shame, in some ways. Making this site has gotten me very nostalgic for my first fandom. Not for the bad image galleries that sprung up in the unsavory corners of the net, though. Laws, but it was tough to find an image in my collection large enough for a proper layout. The picture I finally chose was plagued by a proliferation of particularly large speech bubbles. I spent a long time playing with my stamp tool trying to recreate the shape and texture of the character's distinctive hair. Results? so-so. Also, the panel cut off half of Jessie's sleeve and most of her substantial head of hair, so the (very odd) layout includes some vaguely coat and hair shaped layers which I tried to make artsy instead of silly looking.

This fanlisting has Aspirations. When it grows up, it wants to be a fanfiction archive. So that's two or three birds with one stone, methinks. I'm currently in the process of re-discovering all my favorite ficcers and carefully squirreling away their email addresses, that I may ask them if they'd mind my archiving a few of their works, but I've still got some 9 months of community posts to read through =.=;;

This image had flat out TEXT over it, which I carefully removed, even from the complex little buildings in the background. Of course, then I decided that I didn't want much of the background in the layout, period, but that's why I'm showing off like this for whosoever stumbles across this journal.

You know, there was a time when I really didn't like FMA's character designs. That I can now casually think of the boys not as cute, not sweet, but "hot" is a testimony to the flexibility of the human mind. (Incidentally, I feel much the same about Chris Meloni. Tell no one.)
