Mrr. Whensoever my webhost actually feels like doing its job rather than limiting my bandwidth (which it seems it's been doing every day at odd hours for some time now. unlimited my virgin toes) I have a site and its subsite to open to the public. But just now there's naught but an error page to be seen, so it'll have to wait.

I ponder closing down a third of my sites just to keep the other 2/3rds up consistently on another server. Problem is, which third?

In the meantime... would anyone else think of being so foolish as to buy extra icon space for an RP account? My shoulder angel doesn't think it's a good idea.

do you mean actually closing one domain and keeping two, or just closing a bunch of your sites and limiting yourself down to one domain? ^^;; cause if you wanted to close a domain, unfortunately gensoukai.net would probably be the most logical, and then just move those sites back over on windschaser. (nods)

...but gensoukai.net is so awesomes~~ and what a great name :D

I mean closing one domain to keep two, because I could maybe afford two domains on a good server, but without AWH's offer of a third for free there's just no way.

But I don't *want* to move the GenSouKai sites back to Windschaser, because that would mean that my portfolio (when it actually exists) would be constantly blinking out of existence. I'd have to actually get rid of the sites T__T

if the sites are too large in size, I'll let you put them on s-w.net :D on like your own little subdomain or somethings :D

I could~ The question is, what would Ryoma like for a layout? Or should I override him and make it according to what *I* like?

Anyways, I figure I should give the RP some time and see if it still lives before I shell out any cash ^^;

Wow, that sucks. Though your web host freaks me out, in all honsty. I remember watching Eyes Wide Open go down one night and being all; O.o What happened to Dee and Ryo, they're go~ne!

It was pathetic. ^^;;

My webhost pisses me off too. The one BM.net's on is worlds better. But AWH (my current host for the other three) gives me a free domain on top of the two I pay for, and space to go with it. I'm still not sure anywhere else would be a better bargain... just safer for the sites I really want up 24/7.

I'm now thinking of staying with AWH but closing a few things anyway to combat the bandwidth problems. Eyes Open would be on the axing list T___T;;

It seemed like you never got to do half of what you wanted to with that site, anyway. ^^ As much as I'd hate to see it go, it'd probably be the logical choice.

I'm assuming you're still with AWH? ><;;; I'd suggest switching to my host, since he seemingly could care less about how much bandwidth you're using, but I don't think he lets you set up separate FTP accounts and I know you have other people hosted. Although... I only paid for half a year of hosting ($30), and he's hosted me for another year for free, so... it's cheap if you just want to move a few of your own websites onto a domain over there.

What account do you need extra icons for? I still have several extra-icons worth of LJ credit and none of my friends need it. ^^

Wow... that is such a nice deal for a portfolio webspace! *_* I couldn't just switch one of the current ones unless I was willing to close hella sites (only two subdomains included, unless I'm wrong) but for that cost I could almost buy *another* domain, move the really important stuff over there, just leave the fansites where they are without shutting down any of them, and ignore it when they have problems, since I don't care as much about them... sorry, blithering ^^; Something else to think about.

Re: icons. I'm just being silly and wanting more icons for a character I'm RPing. Not worthwhile, really.

hmm? I wasn't aware you were even using subdomains... by subdomains, you know that he means 'http://subdomain.domain.com', right? You can have as many folders as you want (http://domain.com/site), I have about 8 different ones, so there's certainly no limit to that. I think the subdomain thing is just... aesthetic. I haven't used either of my two, mostly because I don't see much of a need for it. Anyway, I don't actually know if he gives separate FTP accounts for those subdomains, but I'll probably be asking him soon since I wanted to give a friend of mine some webspace. I'll let you know what he says if you're still interested~ ^^

Oh yes, do tell! I've currently got two hostees to worry about ^^; And if it's subdomain.whatever (which I'm sure it is. I just wasn't thinking) that's actually a better dea. AWH makes you pay for that type of url, the bastids.
